Over the next few months he continued to mature as a racer and on the 27th of November 2003 he streaked away to win a heat of the
Group 1 Hobart 1000 by 12.50 lens before interference thwarted his attempt to take out the Final.
On the 20th of December BIG DADDY COOL won his heat of the Group 1 Silver Chief by 9.50 lengths in a
blistering 29.71, a then track record, and fronted up a week later to win his Semi Final by 7.50 lengths in 29.93. In the Final he jumped straight to the front and
had the 'clock rocking' winning by 8.75 lengths in 29.62, a new track record. On the way to this victory he also recorded a record split of 17.58.
On to South Australia and Angle Park and another memorable win in the Group 3 South Australian Interstate Challenge where he gave
the mighty BOGIE LEIGH a good headstart and thundered home to win by 1.75 lengths.
The following week in his heat of the Group 1 Adelaide Cup he flew around the Angle Park circuit winning by 10.00 lengths in a
sensational 29.14 seconds. Starting a long odds on favourite in the Final and expected to test BRETT LEE's mark
of 28.88 seconds BIG DADDY COOL ran second, again suffering bad interference in a Group 1 Final.
Forward to Wentworth Park on the 31st of January and one of the Greyhound Industry's greatest tragedies in recent times.
BIG DADDY COOL's racing career is ended following severe injury. What heights would he
